My iPod displays a sad iPod icon.

The sad iPod icon indicates a hardware problem. If you are able to force iPod into disk mode, then you should try to restore your iPod with the latest software. If you cannot set iPod into disk mode and restore it, then your iPod is in need of service.

iPod is displaying battery with exclamation point.

This happens when the battery needs to be recharged. Connect iPod to the power adapter to charge it. You can also charge it by connecting to your computer.

Check the following:

The iPod is not turning or responding.

Check the following:

1. Make sure the hold switch is off
2. Battery might be uncharged so charge it
3. iPod need to be reset
4. Restore the iPod software

iPod is not playing the music.

Check the following:

1. Hold switch should be off.
2. Volume should be adjusted properly.
3. iPod might be paused.
4. Make sure you upgrade your iTunes with the latest version.

Trying to connect iPod to the computer but nothing is showing.

Check the following:

1. Make sure that iTunes Software is installed on your computer.
2. iPod need to be reset.
3. USB 2.0 port is recommended to connect iPod.

Unable to download song or other data to iPod.

The songs format is not supported by the iPod.

4. AIFF
5. Apple Lossless
6. AAC
